In 1945 Tove Jansson published the first Moomin book, The Moomins and the Great Flood. The book began an ongoing successful journey. Martinex is one of the longest-running Moomin licensee holders, having made Moomin by Martinex products since 1992. We celebrate the Moomin anniversary year with lovely new products, featuring beloved Moomin characters. This year we launch something completely unique, a Moomin by Martinex Street collection, designed by Mert Otsamo. Read more of the collaboration collection here.

Autumn signifies return to daily life and seeing loved ones. To celebrate, we introduce a new print: Reunion. This print gathers Moomin characters together, as if to a reunion after the summer holidays. The Moominhouse is open for everyone, just as they are.

”The autumn collection is inspired by the shortening autumn days, darker nights, and the changing colours of nature. It is lovely to go on a trip and little adventures with friends – maybe this year we will make our own treehouse! The Moominhouse door is always open, and the Moomins celebrate the changing of the season in the beloved Party Moment print and our new Festivity print”, our designer says.

The autumn collection features clothes in matching colours for babies and children, in sizes 56–86 cm and 92–128 cm. There are many matching clothes for siblings, cousins, and friends! And these matching prints are available in different colours, too! 

Whether you were looking for adorable dresses, soft pyjamas, comfortable shirts, warm college overalls for babies, leggings, college trousers, or training clothes, you can find it all from our selection! We are delighted to introduce new fleece jackets that are made from super soft material on both sides. These lovelies are available in two prints, for babies and children!

The autumn collection features clothing for days at home, for visiting friends and family, day-care, and school! These rich prints are accompanied by solid-coloured bottoms that can be paired with many different prints for fun, different combinations!

But what about adults? Our new Moomin collection’s adults clothes are inspired by the darker nights, autumn foliage, and the red shades of leaves. The deep colour combinations, atmospheric prints, and lovely pictures are available in our beloved dresses and tunics, shirts, and college clothing. 

Our dresses and tunics are not only comfortable to wear but they also fit well. The Sonja tunic has long sleeves and side slits. The Hely dress features a V neckline and a voluminous hem. Our beloved Ira tunic has a teardrop shape design. Our Jenni dress has a fitted top and a comfortable, flared bottom. The new Elvi collar shirt dress is very versatile with its wide fit and buttons. Wear it as a jacket or dress! Our college shirts, trousers, and hoodies have something for everyone in a large variety of designs, colours, and prints.

And the prints <3 The Party Moment print, in black and plum, is especially vibrant. The Haze print has lovely shades of pink, purple, and blue and it is available in darker shades, too! Our super popular zip-up Senja hoodie is available in stylish black, accompanied by Little My among flowers.

The bags of the autumn collection feature new prints and colours. Our beloved bags and backpacks are now accompanied by a fun belt bag that can be used as a stylish crossbody bag. The crescent-shaped Ninni bag and Kampsu XL bag are made of quilted fabric, with stitched shapes of Little My. Our collection features belt bags for children, too, featuring Stinky, Moomintroll, and Little My. The bags have a fun detail – there is a separate, raised design with Little My’s hair bun and Stinky’s and Moomintroll’s ears. Party moment

Party moment is a beloved, classic print by Martinex, here to celebrate the anniversary year with us in new shades. The party theme is visibly present in the prints of the year as the Moomins love to party! 

It is a celebration in the Moominvalley! Moominmamma, Little My, Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden are enjoying a glass of bubbly while Moominpappa is reading his book. There are beautiful lanterns, balloons, and a cake! It is an atmospheric summer day. Snufkin is playing music for all – what a happy moment!

Climbing tree

Like the Party Moment print, Climbing tree is a classic Martine print, brought back with new shades and small tweaks to celebrate the anniversary year. The intense shades of red emphasise the ambience of autumn.

Oh, what a lovely climbing tree! The trunk curves slightly, and the flowers are blooming in beautiful colours. Moomins have climbed high up, and they are admiring the beautiful scenery. Primadonna’s horse has arrived as well – maybe she wants to taste the beautiful pink flower. Are the Moomins planning on building a treehouse? They seem to be enjoying their time in the climbing tree – let’s hope they don’t fall!

Camping

Autumn is the best time for a little trip in the woods! The nature is filled with shades of gold, and the campfire is warm when eating the snacks and treats Moominmamma packed for the trip.

The forest in autumn is full of exciting things. The Moomin characters are off to the outdoors. They have set a tent and are now enjoying the autumnal atmosphere. Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll have sat down to enjoy their snacks. Little My is eating treats while Moominmamma is being very active. The campers can be seen in their tents as well – are they hiding from the rain or from Hattifatteners?

Reunion

The Reunion print continues to celebrate the 80th anniversary year of the Moomins. The theme is inclusivity, an important topic when school is about to begin. The Moominhouse is always open for everyone, no matter their background. The joyful print is available in pink and blue with different characters.

Moomin characters have gathered together, as if to a reunion. Because what’s better than meet old friends and enjoy time together, reminiscing and catching up? Moomins and their friends are having a great time, being accepted and welcome as they are!

Deluge

Autumn brings with it rain, and it seems Moominvalley is experiencing a deluge! But no matter, the Moomins will always find ways to have an adventure. This atmospheric print is available in two colours, beige and blue, with different characters.

In the book Comet in Moominland by Tove Jansson, Moominvalley is hit by a large storm. Moomintroll leaves for the Observatory to get more information about the phenomenon, which turns out to be a comet, heading towards them. Moomintroll and his friends get into exciting adventures, which include walking on stilts. This adventure has a happy ending, and it becomes a legendary, exciting memory.

Festivity

Festivity theme is present during the anniversary year as the Moomins love to party. The Festivity print takes place during the night, with autumn colours in the foliage. But it is still warm enough to have the last garden party of the year.

Sun is setting, and the atmospheric dusk has set into the Moominvalley. The Moominhouse and its garden are illuminated with lanterns, and everything looks beautiful. It is a perfect time for festivities in the garden with friends. You should join them!

Tree house

The Tree House print is inspired by climbing in trees and creating tree houses. What else could remind us more of childhood than climbing, building, and balancing on tree branches?

Look at that! There is a treehouse up in the wood with a roof and windows! Too-Ticky is sitting on the roof with a hammer while Snufkin sits in a tree, calmly. Sniff, Moominpappa, and Moomintroll should watch their steps – they are very high!

Tent life

The Tent Life print is inspired by visits to the forest. Autumn is a great time to pack the tent and snacks and go off into the woods.
